Strain
A stretch or partial to complete tear of muscle fibres — ranging from mild tightness to severe injury — most commonly occurring in the back, neck, knee, wrist and ankle.

Symptoms
Symptoms of muscle strain range from mild to severe depending on the grade of injury.
Most commonly affected areas:
Back, Neck, Knee, Wrist, Ankle, Shoulder, Hamstring, Calf
Pain or tenderness at the site of the strained muscle
Swelling, inflammation and localised soreness
Heaviness and weakness in the affected muscle
Redness, discolouration and bruising around the injury
Restricted range of motion at the affected joint or muscle
Inability to bear weight or use the muscle normally
